Why Do You Have To Pay The Sal Authentication Fees When You Do Not Require It?

As of 1st October 2019, the implementation of the Singapore Academy of Law (Amendment) Rules 2019 and Notaries Public (Amendment) Rules 2019 dictates that the issuance of the Notarial Certificate is exclusively available through SAL's e-Register. To obtain this certificate, a payment of $86.40 is mandatory, and we, as Notaries Public, are obligated to collect this fee on behalf of SAL. This process applies regardless of whether your document(s) will be submitted to a foreign Embassy or if the foreign recipient requires SAL authentication.
